Hello Earth-2

Now I know this sounds familiar but, HOW GREAT IS THIS FREAKING SHOW!!! Each in every week I talk about how fantastic this show is and the very next week it seems to get better. We have gotten Reverse Flash, Time Travel, Gorilla Grodd, Jay Garrick and now we get basically a full episode on Earth-2. Earth-2 was everything we had hoped and more and the doppelganger and overall ambiance was something to behold. This show clearly got a significant increase in funding because the special effects were at its peak for this episode. Not to mention some more great acting by Candice Patton and Jesse L. Martin and probably the most Easter Eggs we have seen in one episode ever.

Lets Talk About Those Easter Eggs

When they announced that The Flash was going to Earth-2 I figured we would see some cool alternate versions of our favorite characters but had no idea the foreshadowing and Easter Eggs we would get. Probably the most talked about part of the show came pretty early when Harry, Barry and Cisco were traveling though the incursions to Earth-2

Supergirl

Supergirl is in the Multi-Verse

The First thing we saw was Supergirl. Thats right if the announcement of a Flash-Supergirl crossover last week wasn’t enough, we now get full confirmation that Kara exist in some form in the Flash/Arrow multiverse. I don’t believe Supergirl is on Earth-2, I believe that incursion allows you to travel to many of the “Infinite Earths” in the multiverse. The Flash/Supergirl crossover will take place next month on March 28 and I think we know how Barry is going to make his way to National City now.

The Flash

90’s TV Show Flash

During Comic-Con a couple years ago John Wesley Shipp said that the 90’s campy tv show Flash was cannon. We all laughed and thought that was cute but didn’t take him serious, boy were we wrong. When the crew was going through this incursion and I saw that image of 90’s Flash I almost pissed my pants. This show doesn’t tease things that we don’t eventually get. So this means one of two things, either their is an alternate Earth that has the campy 90’s flash as its hero or more likely to me their is an alternate Earth where Henry Allen is the Flash. Either way I can’t wait until we go there. Last year when Barry went into the speed force to go back and save his mother we saw the Flash parade, Killer Frost and Barry in prison. We have now saw 2 of 3 and I’m sure we will see the last one pretty soon.

Green Arrow

Green Arrow??

Along with Jonah Hex, Gorilla Grodd, and Legion of Super Heroes we also got this interesting version of Green Arrow. Some think its older Oliver, some thing its a alternate earth where Diggle is the Green Arrow and a lot of people think its Connor Hawke who is Oliver’s son in the comics. The person looked liked a person of color which is why people are on the Connor Hawke/Diggle bandwagon. I had heard they plan on doing Connor Hawke on Legends of Tomorrow so I would imagine he is in the future of our Eartha and not Earth-2.

Earth-2 Family

When we get to Earth-2 Barry decided to kidnap his doppelganger and pretend to be that version of Barry to use forensic evidence to figure out where Zoom is. But, before he could get any information he ran into Iris who on this Earth is his wife. This is Iris is much more aggressive and instead of her dad being a detective she is the best detective on the squad. Iris basically took Barry in the back and gave him the best kiss of his life. It was interesting seeing how Barry was acting because deep down this is the life he wanted but he understands this was his life at least I thought he did. Barry got distracted from the plan and decided to put Jesse on the back burner to help Earth-2 Iris and Joe even thought he knew they were not his real family and Joe didn’t even like him. Of course even though Earth’s are different similar events happen and Joe West ends up being killed by Deathstorm. Barry is absolutely wrong this time. The purpose of the trip was to find and rescue Jesse but Barry let his emotions take him over which eventually caused him to get captured by Zoom.

Killer Frost, Deathstorm and Zoom

Earth-2 Killer Frost and Deathstorm

Killer Frost and Deathstorm

I must say Danielle Panabaker as Killer Frost on Earth-2 is so much better than Earth-1 Caitlyn. Caitlyn is this dry character that seems to be so dependent on the men in her life and at times can be really unlikeable even though she is suppose to be a babyface. Killer Frost on the other hand was in complete control, sultry, confident, aggressive and badass. I love how they interpreted her powers especially with her form of the “Kiss of Death” that freezes whoever she kisses. Deathstorm is a take from a character on Earth-3 in the comic books where Martin Stein fuses with a dead body and turns into Deathstorm. Robbie Amell did a good job as Deathstorm but he proved to be a sucker by how easily Zoom killed him. We basically find out that Cisco’s doppelganger’s name is Reverb and he had Killer Frost and Deathstorm bring in Barry. Reverb is like an evolved Cisco who is in full control of his powers. Reverb also works for Zoom but thought he along with Cisco could run the city and betray Zoom. Next thing you know just like a horror film Zoom shows up and basically kills Deathstorm and Reverb for hurting Barry. Zoom needs speedsters to be unharmed I’m assuming for him to take their speed. We leave this episode with Zoom locking Barry up in his prison with Jesse and a mysterious masked man that I’m sure we will find out his identity next week.

It’s Time for…….Who Is Zoom?????/

wally

Zoom

Not to much progression in the Who is Zoom storyline. However I think we can rule out Wally from Earth-1 because of how much clout Zoom has on Earth-2 it seems like he’s been there and Wally would not be able to have lived his life with Francine and be Zoom. Next weeks episode Barry will probably break out so that means Harry and Cisco will have to find out some more info on Zoom as a result we will probably get a better idea of who Zoom might be.

Below is a clip for next weeks episode Escape from Earth-2:

The Flash: Welcome To Earth-2

  • Danielle Panabaker was great as Killer Frost
  • The special effects and look of Earth-2 was amazing
  • The Easter Eggs in the incursion are something to look forward too
  • I don’t like how they made Barry so selfish and unaware in regards to his Earth-2 “Family”
