Come on Barry…Smh lol

This whole episode all I kept saying was “Come on Barry”. Like his idea this time was a terrible from the start and almost every decision subsequent was equally as bad. If there is one thing we have learned on this show is time traveling on purpose specifically back in time is almost always a terrible idea. This time Barry decided to go back in time to try and trick Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne into teaching him the speed equation so he can get faster to defeat zoom. Like there was any chance that Thawne would not figure out that this is not the Barry from his timeline and on top of that we get introduced to the concept of Time Wraths which were not full explained but I am sure we will be seeing again maybe before the end of this season.

Time Travel is Dangerous

Time Travel

Barry is caught

Once Barry gets back to the time he was going to his former self sees him and that completely messes up the plan. I always thought interacting with your former self would have grave consequences so that is something to pay attention to going forward. It seemed like in the first interaction where Barry from the future was interacted will Wells Thawne that he knew something was up. Eventually he snapped and locked Barry up.

This is the part where Barry saved himself and saved the future. He was able to trick Thawne into not killing and almost blackballing him because he knew his ultimate goal is to get back to his time and future Barry threatened to tell past Barry what Thawne was doing. This was clever because he didn’t tell him the whole truth especially about him dying because of Eddie and he still go what he wanted. Barry is far more mature than he was at this point last year and while he still makes bad and impulsive decisions, he is becoming more cunning and more a hero with skill and not just using his powers. The other thing from this scene is just the hatred that Thawne and Barry have for each other. We still have not seen how Thawne and Barry originally met and what made Thawne hate Barry so much, hopefully we will get that in a vision or in some sort of time travel episode in upcoming seasons. Whatever happened must have ended up real bad for Thawne because based on the comics he was The Flash’s biggest fan.

Team Flash

Anytime you go back in time you have a potential of changing the timeline mostly for bad but sometimes for good. Although we have not seen all the fallout from this lst time travel we might have gotten a good change with Hartley Rathaway a.k.a Pied Piper. The time Barry went back to was when Pied Piper was going crazy with his sound blasters. This time Barry let cisco know about Pied Pipers hearing aids and that he knew were Ronny was seemingly led to Hartley being apart of Team Flash when Barry got back to present time. This is interesting to see if he is just an adjunct member or actually a full fledge member of the team going forward. Also his tech could really help Cisco with his powers and potentially give him some of the abilities we saw from Earth-2 Cisco.

It’s Time for…….Who Is Zoom?????/

wally

Zoom

We now know who Zoom is….Or do we. The show has revealed that Zoom is Jay or at least looks like Jay. This is going to be so interesting because we did meet Hunter Zolomon and we still have the mystery guy who Zoom had locked up. I have a feeling nobody is going to figure this out until it happens and even us comic book nerds don’t have this figured out. I am still of the opinion that Zoom is Hunter Zolomon and the real Jay Garrick is locked up, but that does not explain who the Jay is that was killed by Zoom. It sucks that the show is taking another break until mid April so we all can just speculate and debate for the next couple weeks.

Below is a clip for the next episode when we get background on Zoom:

The Flash: Flash Back

  • Time Travel always has consequences
  • Barry shows signs of getting more mature
  • We got introduced to the concept of Time Wraths
  • Not a lot of West family time in the last couple weeks
