A Tried and True Avengers Hero Misunderstanding
All-New All-Different Avengers has had a very good start after the event of Secret Wars. This book is a prime example of Marvel’s diversity initiative and they have done a good job with that. This team consist of Sam Wilson Captain America, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel Kamala Kahn, Nova, Female Thor, Miles Morales Spider-Man and The Vision. They brought this team together organically and its been interesting seeing the mix of veterans and young heroes interact and try to come together as a team. This issue the Avengers found themselves in a “Standoff” against The Uncanny Avengers at this mysterious Pleasant Hill facility. Marvel has had these confrontations since the 1960’s and it always starts with a misunderstanding and ends with them working together towards a goal. But, this time we don’t get a conclusion and at the end we get this weird pull back to see that things are not what they seem to be. This book left me wanting more and looking forward to where they take this story.
Captain America and Thor
One of the most interesting moments of this book so far was the kiss between Captain America and Thor. This was big on so many levels and Sam is still trying to figure out whats going on. He found out Thor’s secret identity and that added another layer to this relationship. This book starts with them talking about the kiss and trying to figure out if there is something there or just the a spur of the moment thing. I find this to be so interesting because they have to work together as Avengers but clearly Sam has feeling for Thor and the rest of the team does not know about it. There has to come a moment soon where he has to make a choice and his feeling for her will definitely play a role in that situation.
